The Position:
Full Time
Salary $65,000 - $80,000 + Super
Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer, this full-time role is based in Brisbane HQ. The position involves laboratory microbiology activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivation, maintenance, and inoculation of bacterial and fungal cultures using aseptic techniques.
- Maintaining growth schedules and continued process improvements.
- Preparing media and agar plates, removal of contamination, storage methods (such as freezing of organisms.
- Prepare samples for testing/production. Working with the manufacturing team to meet commercial time frame.
- Investigating the growth, structure development, and other characteristics of microscopic organisms such as bacteria and fungi.
- Liaise with other organisations for testing/sampling/orders.
- General cleaning, protocol and standard operating procedure and documentations.
- Maintenance of lab equipment and inventory management.
- Troubleshooting, including ensuring non-compliances are investigated, actioned, and resolved.
- Reporting results for stakeholders in a timely fashion.
- Establish, review, and evaluate laboratory procedures and policies.
- Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in accordance with approved procedures.
- Ensuring the timely online data entry for all sampling and testing results into JIRA.
- Perform, report, and follow up on lab equipment calibration and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of analytical laboratory experience.
- B.Sc. with Microbiology Major or related discipline.
- Knowledge and/or practice of aseptic microbiology techniques.
- Thorough understanding of laboratory best practices and quality systems/programs are necessary.
- Knowledge of GLP/GMP/ISO/NATA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Able work in a multidisciplinary team with strong work ethics.
- Problem solving and communication skills.
