This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in VIC. We are looking for an experienced Mid-Level Developer to join our team and follow established MVC framework patterns to build out additional features and functionality. Reporting to the Information Systems Manager, you will be part of an agile team building out financial reporting and HRM functionality into an existing internal staff portal system.

Additional work may include integration and data synchronisation with the MYOB Advanced platform (Accumatica). 

 As part of this role, , you will be responsible for various duties including but not limited to::

• Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and implement backend applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Build and optimise database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
• Implement authentication and authorisation mechanisms for secure access.
• Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure code quality.
• Participate in Agile scrums to track progress and deliverables. 
• Work within the following development environment: 

                   Back End:

           PHP, Laravel & MySQL running on an AWS high availability ELB stack

                   Front End:

          React TypeScript Stack based on Create-React-App

                 Ci/CD pipeline:

          PHPUnit Tests running on CircleCi.

                Project Management and required documentation:

          Agile delivery in 2-week sprints using GitHub Projects and Issues for                 task allocation.

 The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• IT degree, additional qualification in developing software will be a plus.
• 2+ years of professional experience in backend development 
• React and typescript experience will be highly desirable.
• Proven experience as Mid-Level Developer.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Be a proactive person with a positive attitude who takes pride in their work.
