The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. About the Role
Deliver innovative, engaging and accessible community programs at two Adventure Playground sites and in community settings, supporting the operations, safety and program compliance.
Assist the Middle Years team to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships with young people, families, community group and service providers guided by Councils policies, plans and priorities.
Work in partnership with internal services and departments to provide best practice and timely support to children and families, ensuring the care and protection of young people, including their rights to privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
Collaborate with a diverse team, passionate about supporting young people and strengthening community connectedness within the City of Port Phillip.
Duties:
- Develop, lead and participate in a broad range of Middle Years programs and initiatives.
- Encourage program participation and council service engagement within the community.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to promote Middle Years services initiatives.
- Support team leader in the operations of Adventure Playgrounds
- Assist in the development and modification of procedures, in line with safety requirements
Skills and Experience
- Qualification in and/or experience working with young people (e.g., youth work, teaching)
- Experience working with young people with diverse needs and complex circumstances.
- Experience in administrative tasks and management of operational duties.
- Victorian Driver License and VicRoads License verification
- A current Working with Children Check and willing to undertake mandatory Police Check
