Role description
A unique opportunity exists for a motivated midwife to join our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) . This is a continuity of care model that focuses on women's individual needs, expectations and aspirations to achieve optimal birthing outcomes. The MGP offers a low risk model for women and babies and empowers women to be an integral part of their care. The position provides a caseload proportionate to EFT. Each midwife will work a total of 0.7 EFT and will have four protected days off each fortnight (up to 0.1 EFT will be on site in birth suite at Bendigo Health, which allows for collaborative care). You will be working with a small group of midwives and GPOs who are passionate about supporting women through a physiological birth.
About you
Essential for this role
- A Midwife registration with current Authority to Practice with APRHA
- Experience in team/caseload midwifery or recent experience in all areas of midwifery care
- Clinical skills required for autonomous practice
- High level communication and organisation skills
Current training in:
- RANZCOG FSEP (face to face course, Level 3 practitioner)
- Neonatal resuscitation (have attended or willing to attend advanced training)
- Obstetric emergency simulation training (theory and practical skills)
