Mimili Anangu School - Year 5/6 Teacher

Mimili is a beautiful Anangu community set in the APY Lands, a short drive from the Stuart Highway. We’re seeking a passionate and adventurous primary and middle years teacher for our 5/6 class. You’ll be looking to make a real difference in the lives of our students and teachers, and to form lasting connections with our small, yet welcoming community. Bring with you a positive attitude, a willingness to grow and a good sense of humour.

Use your weekends exploring the beauty of Central Australia, with the Musgrave Ranges, Uluru, Kings Canyon, the gorges surrounding Alice Springs and everything in between, all within range. Or, get out on country with our Anangu leaders, camp out beneath the stars and learn the history of this beautiful part of the world.

What you will bring:

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to be positive and extremely flexible 
• Ability to develop respectful reciprocal relationships with Anangu Educators 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field. 
• Require a willingness to take on new learning and pedagogies to suit a wide range of learners is essential.

Special Requirements: 

Successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter the APY Lands, as per the local Aboriginal Community Council (APY - Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Executive Board)

To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any teacher nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment.
