Mine Geologist - Underground
Our client is a growing Mining House with a diverse range of commodity exposure who has recently expanded their hard rock operation in Tasmania. The mine is looking to add to the technical expertise on site in the Underground Geology team.
This role is strategically very important for the mine as it looks to deliver annual and life of mine targets as well as resource extension plans, in the role you will also supervise graduate geologists.
Reports to: Geology Superintendent
Duties
• Maintain Geology and Grade Control Procedures
• Geological Mapping and Sampling
• Collate and Deliver Accurate Production Data, Forecasts and Associated Reports
• Supervise Drill Programs
• Manage Resource Extension
• Supervise Junior Geologists and Field Assistants
• Liaise with Mine Planning & Scheduling Teams
Qualifications and Requirements
• Degree in Geology
• Minimum 2 Years Underground Production Experience
• Exposure to Mining Software
• Manage and Supervise Junior Staff and Contractors
• Excellent Communication Skills for Inter-Departmental Liaison
