- Progressing long-term feasibility plans into medium- and short-term plans.
- Utilising Mine Planning and scheduling tools to create optimal mine rehabilitation designs and schedules.
- Maintaining the knowledge base of stockpiles, grades & block models, voids, and other relevant spatial information via use of industry best practice methods and tools.
- Evaluating the success of mining plans through effective reconciliation and mineral accounting.
- Effectively communicating monthly and quarterly mine plans to several stakeholder groups at varying level of detail via animations, presentations, written methods, and face to face conversations.
- Working closely with engineering service providers, civil engineer of record, and civil field engineers to deliver capping of mined out pits and landforms.
- Working closely with the project execution team to support evaluation of contractor plans.
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related degree.
- Experience in coordinating medium to long term planning activities.
- Previous experience with the use of industry standard Mine Planning software, i.e. Maptek suite, Deswik suite and/or RPM Global OPMS including both productivity and cost modelling.
- 3+ years’ experience working in a large open pit mine environment as a medium- or short-term mine planner or similar role.
- Experience working in mining operational or technical teams, leading the development or implementation of mine plans.
- Safety conscious approach to work and be self-motivated to deliver results.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organisation.
