The Opportunity
In this role, you will report to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer (Strategic Planning) and work at our Osborne Park office in Perth. Your focus will be on developing optimised, accurate, and repeatable mine plans and designs.
Your primary responsibilities may include:
- Creating mine designs, including staged pits and dump designs, mine layouts, and road networks.
- Developing and communicating the annual budget and 2 to 5-year mine plans, including fleet selection.
- Calibrating existing mining models using known information to define dilution and improve model performance.
- Synthesising and processing data to develop usable and repeatable assumptions for input into mine plans.
- Leveraging site expertise and performance information to deliver accurate and achievable drill and blast schedules.
- Engaging stakeholders to understand business-wide objectives and constraints to inform assumptions, decisions, and limitations when developing mine plans.
What is Required?
Our ideal candidate will have some postgraduation Mine Planning experience within open pit mining environments.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in mining engineering or another relevant discipline.
- Previous operational site-based experience.
- Experience in using the Alastri Tactical Scheduler (ATS).
- Exposure to mine design software (e.g. Surpac, Vulcan, Deswik, MineSight).
- Current WA Class C Driver’s Licence.
