Reporting to: Mine Services Superintendent
Elevate your career with an exciting leadership opportunity as a Mine Services Coordinator at Fortescue's Eliwana Mine Site. Reporting directly to the Mine Services Superintendent, this role is integral to the site's efficiency and safety. Your focus will be on the coordination and enhancement of both internal and external road systems, along with managing crucial services such as mobile cranes and scaffolding. As the Mine Services Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing maintenance plans for all roads, ensuring seamless operations within the mine site.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Coordination: Foster a high-performance team culture aligned with Fortescue values, coordinating tasks based on resource availability.
- Road Maintenance & Compliance: Identify, prioritize, and address critical defects within the road network to meet regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Incorporate identified defects into weekly plans and execute annual improvement strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with internal teams, including Mining and Ore Processing Facility (OPF) units, while managing external relationships with stakeholders from FMG's Solomon Mining Operations. Maintain the main access road from Solomon to Eliwana for optimal functionality.
- Communication & Reporting: Maintain communication channels with Mine Roads WA and Main Roads WA, providing accurate and timely information on road closures, especially during adverse weather conditions. Coordinate variation works and review monthly claims while upholding Fortescue standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong Leadership: Ability to build and maintain a cohesive team while navigating complex cultural issues and understanding barriers to retention in a leadership position.
- Effective Communication: Exceptional people management skills, clear and concise communication abilities, and the capability to work efficiently in remote locations and extreme environmental conditions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of traffic control requirements for Main Roads, Mines Regulations and Acts, Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and other relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in contract management and associated civil and earthmoving qualifications.
