Mobile Maintenance Superintendent

The RoleThe key objective of the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent is to deliver a high standard of asset management in line with the SAMP (Strategic Asset Management Plan) and AMP’s (Asset Management Plans) for the mobile equipment fleet. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Ensure the continued safe operation of the site by adhering to Peak Gold Mines policies and procedures, and visually demonstrate leadership in all safety related matter
• Communicate effectively with the maintenance team regarding all site safety requirements
• Participate in regular safety inspections of the workplace and audit work practices in accordance with leading indicators
• Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, actioned and closed out in a timely manner
• Support the implementation of safety plans and procedures
• Manage a team of supervisors and tradespeople to complete all maintenance servicing and repair tasks on underground mobile fleet at Peak Gold Mine
• Maintain the mobile fleet in accordance with the Mine Safety Act, maintenance plans and schedules
• Achieve KPIs on machine availability in line with operational requirements
• Manage the costs associated with both the execution of maintenance activities and capital projects, and collate cost data in a monthly report provided to the Senior Leadership and the maintenance teams
• Implement and maintain continuous improvement of maintenance strategies
• Support the investigation of equipment failures and carry out root cause analyses to improve reliability
• Manage and have oversight of any major mobile equipment off site maintenance activities
• Review work planning methods and maintenance metrics, collate relevant data, report monthly to the Maintenance Manager, and implement action plans to address deficiencies
• Mentor and develop team members
• Provide regular, constructive feedback on performance, ensuring that development plans are current and are actioned for direct reports.

About You

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications or trade qualifications, with further tertiary studies in maintenance management/engineering highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role
• Extensive underground mobile fleet experience
• Knowledge of underground mining systems and methods
• Demonstrated ability to focus on maintenance best practice and continuous improvement
• Demonstrated ability to manage planned/scheduled maintenance requirements
• Unwavering commitment to safety
• Ability to provide strong leadership and promote teamwork
• Demonstrated budgeting experience
• Strong communication, conflict resolution and coaching abilities
