About you:
To be successful in securing this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry)
- Advanced knowledge of appropriate engineering development methodologies and strategies
- Significant industry experience in technical leadership and development of engineering acquisition solutions
- Excellent analysis skills with an ability to develop and evaluate alternatives to determine best value based on Customer-provided performance weightings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare and present concise reports, briefings and updates
- Familiarity with Air / Electromagnetic Battle Management will be advantageous
- Understanding of Model Based Systems Development (MBSD) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles is desirable but not essential
- An Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information

About the program:
AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
About the role:
Working from the Mawson Lakes office, the Modelling & Simulation Engineering Lead provides technical leadership in support of the development and delivery of the AIR6500 System at all aspects of the lifecycle.
The role is primarily responsible for contributing to the engineering delivery of specific elements of the AIR6500 System by:
- Setting the technical direction, defining and prioritising the scope (features) for the Modelling and Simulations IPT
- Defining the Acceptance Criteria / Definition of Done for Features
- Validating that the Product Team delivers in the scope in accordance with the program's Agile priorities
- Providing relevant technical and domain knowledge through mentoring of the broader technical team
- Working with a broad set of stakeholders, across the Lockheed Martin business and design partners for the achievement of common goals
- Providing the voice of the customer for the Product
- Assessing AIR6500 System options with respect to system architecture, product trades, and sell-off approach
