About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced individual in radar systems development and/or electromagnetic Modelling and Simulation to grow our Decision Support Analytics team.
Reporting to the Program Director, Decision Support Analytics, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and working as the senior member of a project team.
You will leverage your knowledge and experience to contribute to the development of technical capability in staff through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Preferably this role will be based in Adelaide or Canberra and offered as a hybrid working arrangement. Flexibility is at the core of how we work at Shoal and remote and/or part time working would be considered for the right candidate.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- A broad knowledge and general technical experience in modelling, simulation and analysis of systems, with the ability to independently lead project teams in technical work, develop effective novel approaches to complex technical challenges, and be a recognised authority and advisor within Shoal across:
- Research,
- Modelling Simulation and Analytics Practice,
- Modelling and Simulation Engineering,
- Applied Analytics, and
- Software Engineering.
- Experience defining stakeholder problems and framing them as analytical problems which can be solved in the required timeframes.
- An understanding of numerous methodologies for solving analytical problems, and how to determine which is most appropriate for a particular problem.
- Experience in applied systems thinking and research approaches in the context of modelling, simulation and analysis.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant discipline
OR
A bachelor’s degree in science (preferably physics), mathematics or statistics, data science, computer science, or similar field.
- Professional Engineer accreditation, or eligibility for Professional Engineer accreditation with Engineers Australia (EA), i.e. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent as recognised by EA.
OR
Is, or would be, recognised at the senior level of membership (i.e., those that typically apply to members with 10+ years of experience) by a professional association e.g., Australian Institute of Physics, Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute, Certified Enterprise Architect Professional.
Special requirements:
Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level.
International export control regulations are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
