Monarto Safari Park Cook
About the role:
The Monarto Safari Park Cook will be responsible for the day to day delivery of all Food services at Monarto Safari Park Cafe and the outpost Cafe during peak times. In addition the Cook will provide catering support to for guests special events such as weddings and birthdays. The position will be required to lead the way at this wild venue, you will need to be a contemporary, hands on leader and willing to champion our brand. Your creative ability to overcome problems with modern, versatile solutions.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivery of a quality food product.
- Food preparation to set up the team for peak periods.
- Short order cooking of Café items such as wraps, burgers and chips.
- Baking of muffins, cakes and cookies.
- Planning and coordinating food operations in consultation with the Venue Manager.
- Providing assistance of running Functions along side an offsite Kitchen Brigade.
- Ensuring delivery of staff training and development programs including food safety.
- Working with the Kitchen staff on the introduction and implementation of new and innovative menus to generate revenue and meet patron expectations.
- Ensuring the correct use of inventory control systems, purchasing and delivery of supplies through supply options, product quality and cost levels.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures; including WHS and HACCP.
What you'll bring:
- Trade qualified Chef and extensive industry experience.
- Working knowledge of delivering delicious Café style food.
- Management of a Café junior Kitchen Brigade including workforce planning, rostering and recruitment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proven ability to train and positively engage with employees.
- Ability to maintain high workloads and meet deadlines within specified time frames.
- Implementation of new menu items.
- Must have own reliable transport to and from work.
