Due to our strong consistent growth, we are now looking for a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to support our enthusiastic team on full time permanent basis.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components such as transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes etc. to diagnose issues accurately.
• Diagnosing, servicing and repairing a variety of different brands of vehicles in compliance with manufacturer’s guidelines and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires.
• Dismantles or removes engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms or other components and checks parts.
• Repair or replace broken, worn or dysfunctional parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings etc. and test and reassembles components.
• Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
• Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use.
• Re-lines and adjusts brakes and perform wheel alignments.
• Test and re-adjust to ensure repairs and maintenance are effective using testing equipment prior to hand over to Client.
• Dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis to explain to clients their automotive problems and the repairs done on their vehicles.
• Performing duties in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
• Keep logs on work and issues.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
• Perform Roadworthy checks and advise client of any repairs or rework required.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for the position:
• Must have full rights to work in Australia.
• At least two (2) years of full-time work experience or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Valid vehicle license.
• Minimum of Certificate III in Light Vehicle Automotive Technology or equivalent.
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimum supervision required.
• Knowledge of Australian Workplace Safety Standards.
• Strong understanding of Job card and Safety analysis.
• European vehicle repair and maintenance experience.
• Good work ethic, an eye for detail and a cheerful personality.
• A highly motivated team player with the ability to multi-task and lead.
• Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and a medical check.
