Position Overview:
- Qualified Technician.
- Must possess industry level certification to operate as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in relevant state, territory or jurisdiction.
- Developed knowledge of the automotive industry.
- Ability to work productively in an autonomous environment.
- Highly motivated.
- Customer Service focused.
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task where required.
- Ability to contribute to building a positive team spirit.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Perform schedule services including brake repair, tyre rotation and suspension repair work
- Experience in diagnostic repair in vehicle issues
- Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and diffs.
- Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to foreman or service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems.
- Quoting and ordering parts needed as required.
- Providing guidance and training to apprentice service technicians.
- Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to dealer product range.
- Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialized equipment.
- Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to customers.
- Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
Desirable:
- Technical aptitude and post-trade experience in a similar role
- Additional qualifications in the automotive/mechanical field
- Prior experience with Toyota vehicles
