Melbourne Tyre and Auto, based in Sunshine North VIC, delivers high quality tyres and provides exceptional automotive repairment and maintenance services. We are seeking a hard-working and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team and expand on our existing service offerings.
Tasks and Duties:
- Identifying and diagnosing faults in vehicle engines and parts of various makes and models.
- Conducting wheel alignments, wheel balancing and other wheel/suspension related services.
- Identify and evaluate vehicle stability and tyre wear.
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, including engine tune-ups, oil changes and lubrications.
- Reassembling engines and parts where appropriate.
- Providing advice and reporting potentially dangerous risks found in customer vehicles.
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
- Repairing and replacing defective parts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Carefully dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components.
- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.
- Inspecting vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or specify work needed to achieve roadworthiness as required.
- Adhering to all work, health and safety policies and procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
- At least two years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including carrying heavy materials and operating hoists.
The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis, with salaries starting from $70,000 per annum (excluding superannuation).
