Morayfield Smash Repairs and Towing is an established locally owned business, operating for more than 30 years in the Caboolture/ Morayfield area.
Due to the continued expansion of our operations we are offering a great opportunity for the right person to join our team.
The successful applicant will be an experienced qualified Motor Mechanic and will report directly to the Workshop Manager.
To join our team as a Motor Mechanic, the successful applicant must meet the following criteria:
- must be qualified
- must have efficient diagnostic skills
- hold a current unrestricted manual drivers’ license
- be reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, whilst maintaining a safe and orderly workspace
- have good presentation and communication skills
- can perform air conditioning service's
- Be able to Remove and dismantle mechanical components including (but not limited to) transmissions, engine assemblies and steering mechanisms and completing a thorough inspection of the components.

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate;
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- A strong work ethic and commitment to success
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a fast-moving dynamic team
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
- Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
- May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
- May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls
