Job description

One of Australia’s Federal Government Departments is looking to engage several Compliance / Investigation Officers to join their team to assist with various elements of the legislative/ compliance functions. The Compliance / Investigation Officers will be offered initial 18 month contracts with 1 year of extensions and a competitive hourly rate!

The successful Compliance / Investigation Officers will be responsible but not limited to the following;

  • Conduct compliance monitoring and investigative activities, designed to disrupt, prevent and mitigate fraud and; actively contribute to, and participate in, compliance promotion and education.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic relationships whilst assisting stakeholders to understand their obligations, and where
    non-compliance may have occurred, guiding them to address issues and risks
  • Prepare complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation, including reports, briefings and submissions to support compliance action.
  • Maintain a well-developed understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks. 
  • Guiding and mentoring staff around the implementation, assessment and monitoring of legislative/ compliance functions. 

The successful Compliance / Investigation Officers must have the following:

  • Previous experience in a similar position with a strong, compliance, analytical focus and investigative experience 
  • Solid experience preparing complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation, including reports, briefings and submissions to support compliance action.
  • Maintain a professional manner in communicating with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, using strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working within a supportive team environment where expertise can be developed and appropriately shared. 
  • Strong customer service background
