Municipal Labourer - Flying Crew
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our team as a Municipal Labourer and play a vital role in maintaining and improving our community infrastructure. This hands-on position involves a variety of maintenance and construction duties to ensure our public spaces are safe and well-kept.
Key functions include:
- Perform general garden maintenance tasks such as whipper snipping, edging, and mowing to keep public areas tidy and attractive.
- Carry out repairs to footpaths, kerbs, and channels, including the removal and replacement of small lots.
- Conduct cleaning and repairs to the urban drainage system, including pits, to prevent flooding and ensure proper drainage.
- Participate in roadway/street maintenance and cleaning activities, including cleaning toilets and BBQs in public areas
- Operate small plant equipment such as ride-on mowers safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily routine maintenance on assigned plant and equipment, reporting any faults to supervisors.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant OH&S guidelines and regulations.
- Act as a Traffic Controller as required, ensuring the safety of pedestrians and motorists in work areas.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our community's infrastructure while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic work environment. While appointed to specific duties, flexibility to assist in other areas within your skill set may be required.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:
- Drivers Licence
- Medium or Heavy Rigid Licence
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Experience in civil works or parks and gardens maintenance
- Ability to perform various tasks involving heavy lifting, climbing into high cabins of plant, climbing to secure loads, etc
- Experience in maintenance duties on road, footpath, parks and gardens and/or drainage assets.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Understanding of traffic control device and planning requirements.
