Form of workAn exciting opportunity exists for a Music Therapist with a strong interest in and commitment to the assisting people in their mental health recovery journey to join the very experienced and dedicated Allied Health team of the Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital.
The incumbent may be required to work after-hours and on weekend.Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until 30 June 2024 with possibility of ongoing employment.

Remuneration: $35.78 - $51.04 per hour

The intention of the NSLHD MHDA is to provide recovery oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence based practices and collaboration
The Music Therapist will provide a comprehensive Music Therapy service to the consumers of the hospital This service will be delivered through individual and group session in accordance with the principles and practices of Music Therapy and will include assessment and interventions as appropriate.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Recognised Music Therapy Degree and eligible for registration with the national registration body the Australian Music Therapists Association (AMTA inc).
- Demonstrated motivation to work in mental health with an understanding of the barriers to engagement faced by people who experience severe mental illness.
- Demonstrated competence in music therapy practice with individuals and groups.
