With a strong reputation established across the country, the company is undergoing a revitalization under new ownership. As part of this growth strategy, they are seeking to appoint a National Engineering and Projects Manager, based either in Sydney or Melbourne.
About the Role
The National Engineering and Projects Manager is a pivotal role within the company ensuring the seamless execution of capital works projects and the delivery of financially and environmentally beneficial and compliant solutions for clients. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the engineering, drafting and design team members and deploying engineering expertise to assess, plan, design, and apply value-engineered solutions across projects.
Collaborating closely with project managers, engineering resources, and operational teams, the manager will ensure that technical and quality standards are upheld throughout project lifecycles. Additionally, the manager will play a key role in equipping projects with the most suitable technical solutions to achieve safety, time, and cost objectives.
While primarily focusing on Engineering and Projects, this role is also strategic; requiring a visionary approach to guide the company's engineering team. The position will assist clients in making environmentally conscious decisions regarding their assets, focusing on building optimization, capital replacement programs, and innovative engineering solutions.
You Will Bring
- 10-15 years HVAC industry experience since graduating comprising of
- Minimum 5 years of Engineering/Technical Team Leadership experience preferably as a Project Manager or in a Project Delivery role
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC Design Management experience
- Strong engineering design capability, ensuring adherence to design principles, standards, and compliance.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications and be able to understand systems applications and methodologies.
- Ability to establish and implement the Company’s design processes and principles, ensuring compliance, verification, and sufficient resource allocation.
- Assess and implement value engineering solutions, with a focus on building optimization and environmental sustainability.
- Provide critical technical expertise, offering guidance on complex engineering problems.
- Exhibit strong drive for personal and professional growth, fostering excellent customer relations.
- Effectively engage with customers, demonstrating active listening, influencing, negotiation, and reasoning skills.
- NABERS accreditation advantageous however not essential.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Industry/professional body accreditation advantageous.
- Graduate Qualifications advantageous.
