About the Role:
The Telecommunications National Field Services Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of field services within the telecommunications sector on a national scale. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing Field Operations efficiently. The individual will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, adhering to quality standards, safety protocols, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of field service technicians and managers across multiple locations
- Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance technical skills, safety awareness, and customer service excellence among field personnel
- Operational Management:
- Oversee all aspects of Field Operations, including installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure
- Oversee all aspects of outsource contracted Field Operations across commercial/ residential connections, faults and service assurance
- Develop and implement standardised processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency across all field service activities
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse performance metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed to optimise operational efficiency and productivity
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with internal/ external stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and sales teams, to ensure seamless project execution from inception to completion
- Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies to meet project objectives and customer requirements
- Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise project delays and cost overruns
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to health, safety, and environmental protection
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of Field Operations to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices

Essential Experience:
Proven experience in managing Field Operations in the telecommunications industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role
Certificate III Telecommunications
In-depth knowledge of telecommunication systems, equipment, technologies, and industry standards
Leadership and Team Management experience
- Electrical systems
- DC Power fundamentals
- RF- FTA / SAT
- GPON Networks – Pit and Pipe / Fibre/ Equipment and components
- IP Networking
- Logistics
