An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join Transport Engineering Solutions, a division of Sime Darby Motors Group.
Transport Engineering Solutions (TES) is one of Australia's leading suppliers of OEM truck and trailer solutions. TES is unique in the market delivering a complete range of products from world class brands in the core transport categories: Hydraulics, Braking, Transport Equipment and Materials Handling.
Transport Engineering Solutions head office is based at Noble Park in Melbourne's south east and is the location for the national support centre, head office, distribution centre and sales support. State offices are also located in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
Reporting to the General Manager this role will lead the operations function at a national level. Key focus areas include
- Effectively managing the flow through the TES workshops nationwide
- Lead the operational teams based in Noble Park (VIC) and Rydalmere (NSW) in meeting and exceeding the annual financial budgets including operational KPIs
- Develop and manage the rollout of a National Workshop strategy
- Grow the national mobile service strategy
- Work closely with the functional leaders within the business to develop collective business strategies and goals
- Build a culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
Your Experience & Skills
- Experience in a management role including supervision and mentoring of at least ten to twenty (10-20) team members in a workshop/operational environment.
- Specialised knowledge of and a background in hydraulics preferable in Heavy transport sector
- Leadership qualities and a genuine desire to coach and develop talent at all levels.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Knowledge of Relevant WHS legislation, policy, and procedures
- A drive for continuous improvement across all resources
- A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering is desirable
