ABOUT THE JOB
As the National Makeup Artist, you will be the spokesperson, ambassador and embodiment of the YSL brand. Not only will be you be the voice of the brand for consumer events but you will also be a role model and makeup skill mentor for the Beauty Advisor population in stores. In this role you will work closely with the head office teams, field teams as well as the Zone and DMI.
As the National Makeup Artist you will be responsible for:
  • Generating sales through eventing in key retail stores, YSL boutique and ecommerce boutique.
  • Learning and using fundamental brand product knowledge and application techniques to provide best results for clients during consumer events and internal coaching.
  • Leading makeup skills training and coaching for the YSL Beauty Advisor population.
  • Mentoring the Senior Artists to ensure their representation of the YSL brand is true and strong.
  • Knowing the YSL beauty portfolio and brand, driving awareness and engagement in and out of store, and on social channels.
  • Creating a range of how-to makeup looks on yourself and models for use on your professional brand Instagram handle, the brands Instagram and internal education platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including retailers and beauty influencers.
  • Supporting the PR team through events, VIP/influencer appointments, editorial shoots or interviews.
  • Attending yearly International Artistry Seminar as directed by DMI.
  • In this role you will be required to travel regularly across Australia.
ABOUT YOU
  • Experienced artistry background although a formal qualification is not required
  • Ability to inspire clients and teams with exemplary sales and artistry in store.
  • You are an experienced, highly skilled Make-Up Artist with standout technical ability and an avant-garde sense of creativity, who is truly excited to be introducing customers, clients and VIP's to our brand new luxury brand.
  • You are confident in running and creating events in store as well as sharing your ideas and suggestions while supporting head office, the International teams and store teams to make them a success.
  • You're approachable, friendly and know the importance of creating a positive working environment with your colleagues and for your clients. You're eager to share your expertise and knowledge with customers, during events.
  • Ability to work flexibility during retail hours, which is likely to include evenings, weekends and holidays and flexibility to travel as required
  • You're passionate about exceptional service which you use to inspire and educate whether you're on counter, delivering a training or creating a look on a VIP.
  • Have experience coaching and supporting colleagues and peers in their artistry and technical skills.
  • Ability to use POS software and other digital systems required to successfully run the counter.
  • A passion for social media and the ability to create creative, engaging and on-brand content
  • Experience working with VIP profiles or influencers
  • Confident in creating on brand and inspiring digital artistry content on your own branded Instagram
