Workplace Health and Safety Officer (Human Resources) – Local Government
We are actively seeking an enthusiastic Workplace Health and Safety Officer to provide proactive support in all matters related to Workplace Health and Safety. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring that the services adhere to legislative requirements and meet the standards expected by the Council.
- $52.93 hourly rate + Super
- Monday to Friday (8:00am – 4:00pm)
- Noosaville Location – Work Close to Home!

- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Council protocols.
- Support Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator in system maintenance.
- Aid in policy development and stakeholder communication.
- Conduct inspections to identify hazards and recommend actions.
- Investigate incidents and provide preventive recommendations.
- Assist in contractor management and tender evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records and oversee data systems.
- Lead work Health and Safety meetings and audits.
- Organize documentation for meetings and activities
Essential:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- Formal training in incident investigation (e.g. ICAM or TapRoot)
- White Card or Blue Card (Construction)
- Driver’s Licence – “C” class
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety or related discipline Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Qualifications as a Fire Safety Advisor or willing to obtain
- Knowledge of Worker’s Compensation and Rehabilitation requirements
