About the Role:
Primo Foods has an opportunity for an experienced Material Planner to join the National Material Planning team in a permanent full-time capacity.
Based onsite across our two Wacol facilities (McRoyle Street & Production Street), and reporting directly to the National Material Planning Manager, the Material Planner will work closely with our production and planning teams to ensure our inventory (dry goods) and purchase orders are managed efficiently to ensure our production targets are met. As part of this role, you will also manage supplier performance and deliveries, and effectively manage stakeholders through proactive communication.
Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Generate and review purchase order requirements against demand and inventory policies.
- Track production volume and monitor customer demand patterns / purchasing trends to produce optimal orders.
- Proactively review inventory position against future demand requirements and mitigate out of stocks and SLOBS.
- Manage the material requirements of new product developments to meet product and launch dates.
- Manage inventory of deleted materials to deletion date ensuring minimal to no write off.
- Establish collaborative routines and cadences with supply partners to facilitate transparency, seasonal planning, strategic projects, NPD and deletions, and tactical performance reviews.
- Report on supplier performance - (DIFOT, Quality and Non-Conformance etc.)
- Report on current and future inventory positions, calling out risks where necessary.
- Timely, proactive and effective communication with cross functional stakeholders
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies
- Ensure dry goods purchasing category is SOX compliant.
- Previous experience in supply or material planning, purchasing, inventory management or related position within an FMCG environment or similar.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing process and supply chain management
- Ability to analyse data, problem-solve, and make recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
- Previous experience with Pronto system ideal
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interface with all levels of management.
