AddressWe are looking for an experienced, friendly and reliable naturopath to join our Sutherland Shire clinic.
About the role
The role would be ideal for someone looking for the opportunity to practice face-to-face, in a clinic with a diverse clientele – without the stress of running your own practice, investing in a dispensary, doing administration, and the stress of worrying about generating patients.
We would love someone who has a passion for nutrition and can put together dietary food plans for patients. We also request that you have strong Naturopathic prescribing skills including herbal liquid prescribing, you have developed your experience working with patients for weight-loss, knowing the different weight loss diet options, which approach is right for whom and appropriate protocols to put a successful plan into action for the patient.
We are also looking for a practitioner who has experience with a range of skills.
The role – starting ASAP – is initially 2 days per week with the future opportunity to increase as you settle into the clinic.
Being available for Saturdays is a part of this role, as we are a family clinic that sees many working professionals, keen to see us outside work.

We’re based in the Sutherland Shire. Right at Sutherland train station.
We are a small team, which includes a receptionist to support you so that you can focus on your consultations.
Our clinic has been running for more than 35 years, and many of our patients are three to four generations. We see all kinds of clients with a diverse range of health problems from hormone and gut concerns, food intolerances, thyroid imbalances, immune challenges, fertility, and much more! We establish a warm and caring relationship with our patients.
The clinic utilises nutrition and nutritional medicine, herbal medicine, homoeopathy, flower remedies, pathology, and evidence-based functional testing and even intuition, to assist in identifying underlying causes of a patient’s condition where needed, in order to tailor treatment plans to the individual with effectiveness and accuracy.
We pride ourselves on old school holistic naturopathic philosophy including the latest natural medicine and testing knowledge.
About you
As a naturopath, you’re at the stage in your career where you:
- Have the maturity to be a reliable team member and participate in what is required to be part of a successful and busy practice.

- Iridology would be an asset.
- Want to have the support of an intimate, close-knit team, focused on the patient experience.
- Ensuring your patients receive an excellent level of care and support throughout their entire health journey.
- Like the idea of having a more experienced practitioner to bounce ideas off and have access to mentoring, from time to time.
- Want to use naturopathy to its fullest extent, not feeling bound by functional testing, strict protocols, and really want to fully use your skillset and expand it even further whilst feeling supported to retain and look after patients.
- You have experience to draw from and use traditional consulting methods to treat patients.
- Have time to attend seminars and do webinars to keep yourself current with the latest approaches and techniques to better your clinical skills.
- Believe that naturopathy is a process, meaning it can take 3-6 months to reach goals with patients and are comfortable setting that expectation with your patients as you bring their total wellbeing back to balance.
- Naturally inspire your patients so that they are excited to undertake their health programs and are enthusiastic to return for the next stage of their treatment.
This is a long term role. We would like you to be keen to work in a clinic and make it your ‘home’. This is a clinic where you will really develop a local, family base, so we want to ensure that you are in it for the long run as that’s what our patient really want too :).
We do bi-annual reviews of patient feedback, experience and financial reviews. As you grow and look after the patients, we want you to be looked after too!
You have the time in your life to develop your skills, take the time to do seminars and webinars and any research you need to do for your patient and provide an exceptional level of care and customer service for our patients. We are looking for someone who is warm and friendly and makes the patient feel comfortable.
You are not heavily committed in other places so that we may also ask you to cover leave for your fellow naturopathic practitioners where required.
You are a good communicator, will be well presented, be looking for a team environment, be willing to follow our tried and trusted techniques for success and love the idea of focusing on patients and new enquiries whilst you sharpen and develop your clinical expertise.
Skills and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in naturopathic medicine
- Advanced diploma qualified, but must have Health Fund status (for the future)
- Insurance and association membership
- Be mature and have a mature approach to your consulting.
- Be warm and be able to make all personality types feel comfortable.
- Health fund status for when health fund rebates return.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience is preferred
- Empathetic, relational approach to providing patient care
- Passion and drive to build clientele and carry patients throughout their whole treatment process.
- Other modalities such as Iridology, flower remedies, homeopathy etc advantageous.
- Ability to interpret pathology results
- Demonstrable knowledge prescribing herbal formulas
- Have knowledge of the varied practitioner supplements
- Confident computer and IT skills
This is an ongoing sub-contractor role with an extremely rewarding remuneration package.
