With our constant drive to expand our operations, range of yachts, breaking boundaries of style, purpose, efficiencies, safety, whilst discovering & inventing ways to reduce our carbon footprint, we now seek an experienced innovative Naval Architect to join our team.
Responsibilities include:
- Research and Concept Design.
- Naval architectural design from concept to sea trials.
- Coordination and control of regulatory bodies, 3rd party consultants and external design identities.
- Regular interaction with project management production, design teams and management.
- Monitoring progress of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Preparation, review, submission and management of structural and Naval Architectural regulatory requirements.
- 3D and 2D design and drawing review of others work.
- Independent review of others' calculations, plans and submissions.
- Weight analysis, stability analysis.
- Global and local FEA.
- Willingness and ability to be actively involved in frequent on-board discussions and reviews.
Prerequisites
- Experience in the design of aluminium vessels from concept through to detail design and manufacture.
- Experience in dealing with third party consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Experience with finite element modelling and analysis.
- An excellent communicator, ability to work stand alone, and to lead small structural teams on a project basis.
- Team focused with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.
- At least 5 years’ experience
Highly Regarded
- Strand7, ANSYS, Maxsurf, Creo/Simulate, Rhino, Auto CAD experience preferred.
- 3D modelling experience.
- The use of large assemblies in a parametric CAD + PLM system.
- Knowledge of Relevant IMO, LR (IACS), Cayman Islands and Marshall Islands codes.
- Motor Yacht experience.
