NDIS Early Childhood Practitioner
An exciting opportunity exists to join Early Childhood Australia as a NDIS Early Childhood Practitioner. As the NDIS ECA Partner in the Community, we deliver the Early Childhood Approach within the Darwin Urban Service area, including Palmerston and Litchfield, assisting families by focusing on a family-centred and strengths-based approach to Early Childhood intervention.
About the role
In the NDIS Early Childhood Practitioner role, you will support families to navigate the most appropriate early intervention pathway for their child. This includes assisting families to access and plan for NDIA funded supports. For children not considered eligible for NDIA funded supports, provide time limited support to the family to develop skills and confidence to navigate early intervention supports. There is also a strong emphasis on working collaboratively with service providers, local area specialist organisations and mainstream community groups to develop positive social relationships and be inclusive of children with disabilities.
Position is available until 30 June 2025 with possible extension.
The annual FTE salary for this position is $88,812, increasing to $90,588 at the completion of a successful 6 month probationary period, plus superannuation and salary packaging is available.
About you
To be successful, you will be friendly, approachable and have the skills necessary to work autonomously. The position suits professionals with skills in the Early Childhood sector. e.g. - social workers, physiotherapists, Early Childhood teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, child health nurses, psychology, counselling and more. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and be willing to help and support the team when required. You will have experience with multiple software packages and databases with confidence and curiosity to learn even more.
You will have a history of positively working with diverse communities and families, building strong relationships while delivering support compassionately.
You will seek out professional development opportunities and have a passion for life-long learning.
Prior experience within the NDIS and an understanding of the NDIS ECA approach is highly regarded.
The must haves
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 including required booster/s
- Current drivers’ licence
- Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) or ability to obtain
A National Police Check will be conducted prior to commencement and a current Ochre Card must be held for the entire duration of employment with Early Childhood Australia.
