About the Role:

We are actively seeking compassionate NDIS Support Workers to join the Enabling Pathways Community team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing comprehensive training and support services designed to enhance and bolster participants' capabilities in various aspects of life, including living arrangements, employment, social engagement, and recreational activities. Your primary objective will be to foster community inclusion, independence, decision-making, and personal autonomy through dedicated support services. By tailoring your approach to the unique needs and goals of each participant, you will contribute to their journey towards independence and an improved quality of life. Whether working within participants' homes or in community settings, you will provide not only physical assistance but also valuable emotional support.

As a NDIS Support Worker, your role will involve:

  • To deliver the finest support for people with disabilities
  • Support clients to participate in age-appropriate activities and tasks including employment, in-home support and community access
  • Support clients to access activities and outings in the community
  • Support clients with in-home supports
  • Provide direct care assistance to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed by the Manager.
  • Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety.
  • Work as part of the broader care team, providing client centred supports.
  • Work with clients, family/carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client’s individual goals.
  • Report to Team leaders regarding any support/care related issues, critical and non-critical incidents.
  • Complete relevant paperwork regarding the client - this must be done prior to the completion of each shift. For example: Shift reports, Incident reports, WHS reports.
  • Administration duties, such as managing finances, receipts and invoices
  • Maintaining client files in the house and use of up-to-date forms
  • Application of the clients’ care plan in all day-to-day tasks

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 6-8 months of experience in a relevant field or role is highly desirable
  • Able to confidently navigate through Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including working and communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other professionals
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Comply with & understand all privacy and confidentiality issues
  • Aware of appropriate cultural protocols for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and those from CALD backgrounds
  • Experience with High Intensity Support (Preferred).

Mandatory Requirements

  • Proof of citizenship (passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate) or VISA if applicable.
  • Current QLD Open Driver's License.
  • Must hold a QLD Working with Children Blue Card.
  • NDIS Workers Screening (Yellow Card).
  • Hold a current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) Certificate.
  • A clean National Police check less than 6 months old.
  • Certificate Ill in Individual Support or equivalent.
  • Completed NDIS Orientation Module.
  • Willing to undergo training in specific courses to support the participant’s individual needs
