Job description

NDIS Support WorkersVarious locations throughout Sunshine Coast

About us

CSBS is a NDIS registered provider supporting people with disability across Queensland.

We support people to live life on their terms. Our relationship-based model of co-designing supports places the person at the centre of all their life decisions, so a person can live their best life, make their own plans, and be treated with dignity and respect, free from discrimination.

It is our goal to provide supports that match a person’s preferences and to recruit workers in line with those preferences to deliver customised supports that build skills and abilities for a person to progress toward achieving their goals.

We employ people who reflect the diversity of the people we support. We encourage applications from everyone including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, mature age workers, and LGBTIQA+ communities.

This recruitment and selection process is based on the support preferences of NDIS Participants and includes the essential requirements for delivering NDIS supports and services.

About the roles

We are seeking part time and casual Support Workers to provide disability supports, both at home and in the community.

We support Participants 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

At all locations there is a variety of day and evening shifts, both short and long.

About you

To be successful in this selection, you will be available to work a variety of shifts, including sleepovers or active overnight shifts.

You will ideally have previous experience supporting people with intellectual and physical disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and be competent with hoisting aids and other specialised supports.

We offer paid training and buddy shifts, along with ongoing coaching and mentoring to successful applicants for supports in a variety of settings.

You are a knowledgeable and skilled worker who can plan and deliver supports to people with complex needs. You are a confident person with experience supporting people with high physical supports and personal care requirements.

You are fit and healthy, caring, and passionate about working with Participants and their families to co-design their supports.

You have experience implementing supports to build capacity, and promote positive life outcomes.

You have excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills and you can rapidly adapt to changing circumstances.

You are committed to the principles of lifelong learning and continuous improvement. You deliver high quality supports in collaboration with others, and seek to find new and different activities that create opportunities to promote decision-making and independence.

You have experience in developing and implementing activities that consider a person’s personality, circumstances, preferences, culture, and gender.

You use your negotiating skills to advocate for people’s rights and support people to make informed decisions.

A tertiary qualification (minimum Certificate III level knowledge for Disability, and or aged care), is highly desirable.
