As a Network Support Technician, you will be working with members of Defence to advance projects and programs through the design, build, deployment, and support of complex network solutions.

To succeed in this endeavour, you will:

• Assist in developing logistic strategies, documentation and plans that support Project objectives and activities.
• Proactively uses ITSM toolsets and monitors the tools routinely, responds to Ticketing & Scheduling priorities, annotates tickets with meaningful commentary, reassigns with approval.
• Consults the Defence knowledge repositories to assist with service management tasking.
• Reports on network device and link states. Monitors tools for hardware or path failures and reports to the Network Lead on links, sites and exercises.
• Under change control, configures routing, switching and firewall hardware and software, leveraging technologies such as Cisco IOS and others.
• Works closely with the Network Voice Engineer. Complimentary skill sets are required for Collaboration service deployments and ongoing operation over JCTB bearers. Also, assists NAT traversal of VoIP and VTC protocols.

Our work is highly complex and confidential, so there are some things you must have to fulfill this role:

• You must hold a current NV2 security clearance or higher.
• If you currently hold an NV1 clearance level, and are willing to attain an NV2, DPS can support you in this process.

We're looking for:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) vendor certification
• ITIL Service Framework certification.
• Demonstrates rigour and diligence in technical troubleshooting
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to professionalism and team objectives
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
