Our Ergon Energy Network have a permanent opportunity for a Network Operations Engineer located in Townsville.
About the role
The Network Operations Group ensures the safe, secure, and timely access to the network as well as the efficient operation of the network to meet customer requirements. Network Operations serves all customers and members of the community and works with the Operations – Field Delivery and Operations – Substations groups to ensure safe switching of the network.
The role of Network Operations Engineer provides day-to-day and strategic advice on the complex dynamics of EQL’s high voltage power systems and first-in technical expertise and support to Network Operations’ group and other operational staff as a primary means of achieving Network Operations group’s business objectives.
This covers the key areas of plant ratings, contingency plans, reliability risk management, voltage management, network analysis, network technical investigations and system operational parameters.
The remuneration for your new role is from $129K plus 12.75% superannuation for a 9-day fortnight and from $146k plus 12.75% superannuation for a 10-day fortnight (includes 13% loading). The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of your knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position.

About You
Critical to your success in the role is your:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and eligible for Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
  • Demonstrated and comprehensive knowledge in all aspects related to the design and operation of protection, system control and data acquisition and other secondary systems with particular emphasis on power system operational issues.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in the co-ordination of a multi-disciplinary group of professionals in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis and management methodologies.
