The Operations team at Barwon Water is a diverse and broadly skilled group, providing essential services to our rapidly growing region. As a Network Operator, you will work in a fast-paced setting, in a key role that will underpin our commitment for safe, secure and affordable water services across our region in line with our Strategy 2030.
Network Operators provide a vital function across the Otway region. You will thrive being exposed to and experiencing some of our most dynamic water systems. On top of the system operations, routine inspections and critical maintenance, there are opportunities to innovate and improve our services to our customers and the local community.
You’ll be part of a team that is responsible for efficient and effective operation of network assets such as reservoirs, channels, disinfection plant process, pumps, pipes, valves by undertaking monitoring, optimisation and maintenance activities.

With excellent communication skills, you enjoy a collaborative and supportive environment as you build strong relationships, contributing to the overall team goal and to be able to represent Barwon Water in the community.
Whilst water industry experience will be an advantage, we will support the successful candidate in obtaining a Certificate III in Water Industry operations. The role will require you to be part of an on-call roster where you are required to work outside standard work hours to respond to out of hours operational events.
A pre-employment medical, including health, drug and alcohol assessment is required for this position and part of our selection process.
As large component of this field-based role requires vehicle travel across Barwon Water facilities, a current Victorian driver’s licence will be required.
