The role
We are looking forward to hiring the Senior Project Engineer (Networks & Security) who will be is primarily responsible for the following:
- Delivering signed-off SOWs and balance stakeholder budget, time and quality;
- Leading technical analysis, implementation and deployment;
- Coordinating technical activities with key internal and client stakeholders;
- Developing and documenting key solution architecture and design aspects;
- Developing technical change requests, migration and test plans;
- Provisioning proof of concept and pilot environments;
- Supporting Project Managers in managing scope variations and risks effectively;
- Supporting Enterprise or Solution Architects in developing scopes and estimates;
- Developing as-built and handover to BAU documentation; and
- Liaising with vendors and service providers to execute technical change
- Strong routing and switching, solid LAN/WAN fundamentals with extensive deployment and advanced troubleshooting experience;
- Broader WLAN, security and voice skills are highly desirable;
- Cisco and Meraki networking products and add-ons;
- Palo Alto NGFW products and skills; and
- Wireless design experience
- Cisco and/or Skype for Business Voice skills are desirable.
Minimum 10 years of ICT experience, of which:
- At least 3 years should be working in service providers; and
- At least 3 years’ robust hands-on technical implementation experience in the applicable core practice area.
- Proven experience or able to demonstrate an interest in mentoring other junior staff members on core vendor products and technologies;
- Previous exposure to key vendors is essential, primarily Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto; and
- Exposure to other vendors such as Juniper, Aruba, HP and Dell Networking is highly desirable.
Current Cisco certifications are desirable, specifically:
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE.
- Project Management training and certifications are highly desirable for those looking to be our future leaders.
