Network/Communications Technician

This role will contribute to and support the sustainment and governance of Defence ICT systems and capabilities. Located at Williamtown. NV1 required.

Tell me about this role:

We are currently looking for an NV1 cleared Network/Communications Technician to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will have you contribute to training, governance, ICT V&V and operational support of air combat communication systems.

What will I be doing day to day?

• Provide technical support and assistance in the configuration, upkeep and repair of communication equipment
• Facilitate fleet and after sales support from third party suppliers for the current fleet of hardware and software
• Train and mentor incoming uniformed Network Technicians, and other operational support personnel
• Provide appropriate policy and governance overheads associated with the current ICT systems
• Manage material sustainment support agreements and commercial agreements
• Manage cryptographic material to enable usage of ICT fleet
• Build and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders and customers

What sort of skills do I need?

• Qualifications in Networking, Computer Science, IT, Telecommunication or a related discipline
• Background as a Defence Network or Communications Technician or exposure to other Defence Communications Systems
• Experience in Project Management or associated fields desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Australian Citizenship and an NV1 clearance as a minimum
