About the role
Key responsibilities include:
- Derive and translate creative ideas to winning, delectable food menu offers
- Manage and deliver New Product Development from concept to commercialization - accurately, on time, on budget and with consistency
- Lead concept feasibility studies
- Ensure ingredient/nutrition compliance against regulatory and customer requirements
- Engage in commercial negotiations with the client
- Identify and manage critical path, with process definitions and scale-up implementations to launch
- Develop packaging and design
- Prepare commercial costings
- Value engineer and reformulate existing product lines to continually improve on product/service delivery quality
- Manage and report on NPD pipeline status and worth
- Research emerging customer needs, markets and technologies and identify New Product and business opportunities
Skills and experience
Essential attributes and competencies are:
- Tertiary (or equivalent) qualifications in food science or food technology
- Strong culinary skills with genuine passion in food
- Team-oriented, with extensive work experience in a New Product Development position in food production; working cross functionally with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement
- Creative, quality and cost efficient mindset to NPD work - with a "WOW!" factor
- Sound understanding of Good Food Manufacturing Practices
- Exceptional and demonstrated project management skills, juggling and managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously
- Effective stakeholder relationship management - both internal and external - which includes existing and new customer relations
- Professional presentation and decorum
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High attention to details
- Sound business acumen
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast paced environment
- Exhibits professional and ethical code of conduct
