Form of workNational Transport Company requires a Nightshift Foreman for their Hope Valley site, due to expansion of the business we are adding an additional shift.
The modern workshop providing the latest technology and facilities was completed in January 2020. With above award conditions and a safe, clean and healthy work environment.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the workshop foreman will help ensure the fleet is maintained to a high standard. The team of Diesel Mechanics are responsible for the professional maintenance and repairs of trucks, trailers and equipment in the general freight, container, tipper and tanker fleet.
The primary duties of the role will include:
- Supervising the repair, replace, maintain and testing of a high volume of company vehicles and related mechanical and electrical components.
- Ensuring all the staff members in the workshop are completing work in a safe and efficient manner in line with company standards.
- Supervise servicing of vehicles in line with company servicing schedule
- Accurate completion of all paperwork and systems associated with fleet maintenance and repair
- Supervise all staff on the floor with 80% floor based work and 20% office work
- Support breakdown phone calls
The candidate we are looking for will have:
- Trade qualifications
- Experience in transport.
- Experience with Kenworth, Cummins & trailers
- Proven competence as a Workshop Supervisor
- MC Licence (not required, but preferred)
- Sound computer skills
- Lead, demonstrate and educate employees to embrace a safe & productive work environment.
- Good problem solving and planning skills
