Oolong House was established in 1989 as a Residential Treatment Service for both Indigenous and non Indigenous men.
Oolong is one of approximately 23 services in NSW that provide a 24 hour residential rehabilitation service and one of just six which are Aboriginal Community Controlled.
We provide a 16 week Residential Rehabilitation Program for men over the age of 18 who want to regain their lives and manage issues linked to drugs and alcohol.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Encourage residents to participate in all aspects of the program
- Clarify house rules and ensure effective compliance at all times
- Participate in shift change over with day staff member at the end of each shift
- Carry out supervised urine screenings on residents
- Remain available to residents outside of supervisors office between the of 6pm-9am except when conversations or actions require complete privacy
- Provide a positive role model to residents
- Dispense medication in accordance with medication procedures

Skills and experience
- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or willingness to obtain
- First Aid Certificate
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills
- Respect for Aboriginal community traditions and values
- Demonstrated capacity to work with groups
- Comply with all HR Policy & Procedures and relevant legislation
