With an international footprint and positioning at the forefront of some of Australia’s most prominent projects in the mining and mineral processing sector they are a company on the move and here presents an outstanding opportunity to join them as an NPI Engineer.
The Opportunity:
As the NPI Engineer, you will form an integral part of a highly innovative, functional and engaging engineering team and supportive senior management team. You will be exposed to a variety of world class and cutting-edge projects within a variety of commodities including gold, copper, nickel, tin and lithium.
Role requirements:
- Review project schedules and develop procurement registers based on-site installation dates to ensure all deliverables are within the required timeframe
- Review project costs and recommend corrective action if significant deviations from budget occur, including regular reporting to the project manager on budget and schedule achievements
- Assist in the procurement phase of projects with developing supply agreements based on best proposals of offer. Justification must be made available to support the vendor selection by means of gap analysis
- Assist in the minor purchasing of site-required goods in a timely fashion, ensuring follow-through to site acceptance
- Develop procurement registers to ensure monitoring of supply goods, and report progress on a weekly basis
- Act as the focal point for all technical-based queries from the client or associated sub suppliers and respond to queries within skill set and scope of knowledge.
- Carry out accurate material take offs with reference to spreadsheets to justify accuracy
- Ensure materials reach site by following up the expediting of goods and provide a contact point for the workshop, sub-contractors, transport, and relevant sites
- Follow and monitor progress in the company workshop by attending site visits and report progress back based on work instruction dates and deliveries
- Development of work packs to ensure workshops, sub-contractor suppliers and site installation scopes are well defined
- Liaise with both in-house and external designers and detailers as required for the successful completion of each project
- Ensuring that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that all company procedures are followed
- Prepare Inspection and Test Plans and associated Project Specific Procedures
- Assist in the development of project document and drawings control within scope of experience
- Development of project MDR’s and deliverables
- Relevant Engineering qualification
- Previous experience in a similar role within the Mining industry
- Construction SMP background with NPI experience
- Exposure to a variety of commodities
- Advanced knowledge of design software packages
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Proven experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders including project teams, construction teams, clients
- Demonstrated focus on meeting client requirements and providing solutions
