Join our Plastic Surgery Team as a Nurse Consultant and help support our commitment to quality patient care!
This is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Consultant to join the team at the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network to support individuals through their gender transition journey. You will provide personalised care, guidance and education on the medical options available. Collaborating with patients to provide individualised care plans, you will ensure a holistic approach that includes mental health support, wellness strategies and advocacy for patients rights within the healthcare system.
About the Role:
Duties for the role will include:
- Providing direct, expert clinical nursing care, selecting and implementing different therapeutic interventions, and providing individual case management to a defined population of patients/clients
- Assisting in the co-design of the Statewide Gender Affirming Surgery Service for South Australia, working with peer-worker, consumers, medical and allied health staff.
- Developing education packages and delivering education to the health care teams on Gender Affirming Surgery
- Coordinating the care requirements for the Gender Affirming Surgery Service patients across the continuum of care from admission, treatment to discharge and outpatients.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- To be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and holds a current practicing certificate with at least 3 years post registration experience.
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability in the leadership and facilitation of change management.
