About the role
Temporary full time opportunity to provide nursing care at an advanced scope of clinical practice, including expanded skills and knowledge in acute mental health. The role will focus on acute assessment, formulation, and treatment planning, inclusive of appropriate brief interventions, to consumers with complex mental health and dual diagnosis issues, their families, carers, and relevant stakeholders. This role works collaboratively with the interprofessional team and contributes to enhanced consumer/person outcomes by actively leading and supporting existing and emerging nursing -led models of care, whilst maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the health service and consumers.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) – Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 8 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
- Demonstrate autonomy, accountability, and competence for expanded practice in providing client-focused care within a nursing model including advanced health assessment of consumer's/person's clinical condition, development, and implementation of appropriately documented management plan.
- Provide specialist nursing interventions that demonstrate an expanded level of nursing knowledge and skills in the practice acute mental health care.
- Provide clinical expertise in response to changing trends in practice or population demand for the specialty of acute mental health care.
