Nurse Practitioner (Endocrine)

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Practitioner (Endocrine) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Undertake Nurse Practitioner led Endocrinology/Metabolic Bone outpatient clinics
• Collaborate with Rheumatology and Orthopaedic teams in caring for patients with complex metabolic bone disorders
• Provide advanced nursing care to clients with chronic disease and/or complex health needs
• Plan, provide, support and coordinate care to clients and their carers within and across a variety of health service, primary health and community settings

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary fulltime
• Base salary ranging from $5554.50 - $5799.00 per fortnight

About Us

The Diabetes and Endocrinology department provides clinical care to people with endocrinological disorders from Ormeau through to Northern New South Wales. The consultant led service has advanced trainees in Endocrinology and fosters a culture of learning in a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and allied health.

The service includes specialist inpatient and outpatient clinics with Nurse Practitioner led care in both Diabetes and Endocrinology. The Endocrinology outpatient clinics have a special focus on metabolic bone diseases including a joint clinic with Rheumatology
