This unique role offers an exceptional opportunity within Australia's largest integrative oncology program and the only MASCC centre of excellence in Supportive Cancer care in NSW. As one of only three such centres in Australia, candidates will have the chance to be part of innovative care delivery.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Ensuring the continuity and excellence of care for patients receiving treatment, whilst empowering lifestyle changes and coordination of holistic supportive cancer care
- Managing symptoms in outpatient services within the Supportive and Integrative oncology department
- Develop specialised education resources for patient/carer/community to be utilised by other health care professionals
- Identify and adopt innovative clinical practice models, e.g. implementation and evaluation of new treatments, technologies, and therapeutic techniques relating to the clinical specialty
- Work closely with multidisciplinary allied health and integrative oncology and survivorship specialists to develop and implement comprehensive programs of care
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and update procedures individually or as part of a team
Essential Criteria:
- Expert knowledge and clinical skills in symptom management, patient education, integrative oncology, and survivorship
- Ability to work independently while promoting evidence-based practice and fostering nursing development and research
- Broad understanding and adherence to safety and quality standards in healthcare
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Association (AHPRA)
- Completion of all the requirements for approval as a Nurse Practitioner by the Chief Nurse OR experienced Clinical Oncology Nurse Practitioner or TNP
