About the role:
Are you a registered nurse with an interest in Medicinal Cannabis?
APEX HEALTH have an exciting opportunity for a telehealth nurse to join our team, assisting veterans to access Medicinal Cannabis for the treatment of their chronic pain conditions.
This is a full-time role that offers the flexibility to work from home.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge to provide a collaborative approach to patient assessments and triage.
- Explaining the practicalities of Medicinal Cannabis treatment to patients and answering questions.
- Undertaking treatment monitoring consultations via Telehealth.
- Acting as a point of contact for patients, responding to queries and escalating to medical practitioners as appropriate.
- Advanced knowledge to assess and evaluate for patient medications and/or contraindications.
- Collaborate closely with General Practitioners (GPs) and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient centered care.
- Undertaking structured patient assessments via Telehealth, with the support of the treating doctor.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain current knowledge of best practices within industry standards.
Requirements for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required (RN).
- Undertaking structured patient assessments via Telehealth, with the support of the treating doctor.
- An ardent supporter with a genuine interest to assist Australian veterans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Experience with Medicinal Cannabis medicine would be an advantage but is not a requirement - full training will be provided.
