We operate 27 hospitals and services comprising more than 3,500 hospital beds, including home nursing, disability services and social outreach programs.Your role at St John of God Geelong HospitalYou will be responsible for the coordination and provision of comprehensive Emergency care, to support the optimisation of each patient experience through direct clinical care and indirectly via educational assistance and support. In addition, you will use their clinical expertise to act as a responsible and effective member of the multidisciplinary team and be recognised for your specialist knowledge in Emergency nursing practice to actively participate in the planning and delivery of care. The PositionDemonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.Maintain specialist clinical skills and act as a role model in the delivery of the highest standard of patient care and service.Apply problem solving to Emergency patient management and assist nursing caregivers to improve their problem solving and decision-making skills where required.Promote and facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to care delivery.Assess and facilitate the coordination of care for patients within the department.Actively resolve or address local and/or immediate issues / delays that may affect the journey of the patient.Provides leadership and clinical expertise by educating members of nursing and multidisciplinary team to ensure patients have a streamlined patient journey.You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, with expert knowledge and advanced clinical skills in Emergency Department (Minimum 3 years), along with a post Graduate Certificate (or higher) in Emergency Nursing. To succeed you will have proven ability to lead a clinical safety and quality culture that places the patient at the centre, optimises outcomes and delivers excellent patient experience.
