Brisbane Day Surgery (formerly Queensland Eye Hospital) was established in 1997 as the Queensland Eye Centre and is a dedicated Multidisciplinary day surgery hospital. Since that time BDS has grown, moved location, and developed into Australia’s largest stand-alone day surgery hospital. BDS is the hospital of choice for leading professionals in ophthalmology, gynecology and plastic surgery.
We are seeking a full time Nurse Unit Manager to assist the Hospital CEO/DoN in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients undergoing day surgery and to act as a resource person for employees.
The Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing clinical staff
- Developing effective relations with key stakeholders
- Promoting and ensuring safe patient care
- Positively implementing change
- Continuous improvement, OH&S and risk management.
- Assisting with Quality Management Systems and the ACQSHC National Standards requirements for accreditation
To be successful in this position, you should be able to meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability including the capacity to initiate and support change within a team framework
- Well-developed organisational and decision-making skills
- Perioperative experience 3-5 years in a day surgery
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Current AHPRA registration
