ABOUT THE ROLE
Joining the team as a Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the 4-bed Intensive Care Unit and 4-bed High Acuity Monitored beds.
This key leadership role will see you:
- Applying advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards;
- Being a positive mentor and providing clinical leadership and support to your team;
- Effectively managing roster processes and allocating duties to clinical staff;
- Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes;
- Assisting in shaping organisational strategy, improving procedural service provision and achieving departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will meet the following selection criteria:
- Current APHRA registration;
- At least 5 years of postgraduate experience in an acute care environment;
- Experience within ICU essential;
- Experience in managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering, and performance management;
- Previous experience as a senior nurse or manager will be highly regarded;
- Strong leadership skills and confident in delegating duties;
- Post-graduate studies in the area of specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded.

REMUNERATION
A base hourly rate ranging from $65.84 - $71.24 + superannuation based on relevant experience and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

The hospital, located on the Sunshine Coast, is an acute care facility with a reputation for providing quality health care services to the Sunshine Coast community. Hospital offers a range of medical and surgical services and is well supported by Operating Theatres, Endoscopy Suite, High Dependency Care, Intensive Care, Renal Dialysis, Oncology and a busy Emergency Department. The Operating Suite comprises 3 theatres plus an endoscopy suite. The CSSD is a separate department.
