We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead our multidisciplinary team on the medical/surgical ward at our Wonthaggi Campus.
The Kodowlinun Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Medical/Surgical ward and will be a pivotal role in ensuring delivery of contemporary, safe and comprehensive patient care consistent with national standards.
If you have an ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team driven to provide best quality care to our patients, have excellent communication skills and experience in delivering organisational key performance indicators then we would love to hear from you.

About the Role
The Nurse Unit Manager must demonstrate
- Proven nursing leadership experience
- Understanding and experience managing a busy medical/surgical ward
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent patient care
- Be autonomous and self-directed
- Ability to motivate a team and display the values of BCH
- Have well-developed and recent clinical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated financial management of budgets
- Ensures the efficient and effective provision of client care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative multidisciplinary team
- Participates in the coordination of overall client care
- Supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes the development of nurses and the multidisciplinary team, within their scopes of practice
- Facillitate local quality activities of the ward
- Demonstrates competence in the provision of person-centred care as specified by the registering authority’s licence to practise, education preparation and context of care
- Demonstrate a sound level of skills in assessment, care planning, practice and evaluation in the provision of care to clients and their significant others.
About You
You must also meet the following requirements:
- Registration with Nursing Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA)
- Post-graduate qualifications well regarded but not essential
- A Valid Police check
- COVID-19 Vaccination in accordance with the Chief Health officer -COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Directions
- Flu Vaccination
- Current Working with Childrens Check
