We treat all emergency conditions (except major trauma and acute psychiatric disorders) including: cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, general and aged care medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, intensive care, obstetrics, and paediatrics.How you will make an impactThe Nurse Manager accepts responsibility for operational management and leadership, professional nursing/midwifery advice, governance and standards of practice within their clinical area. The Nurse Manager uses clinical knowledge and experience to provide leadership and operational direction to the ED and accepts accountability for the delivery of nursing care and patient experience. The ED Nurse Manager (NUM) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective functioning of the ED. This position involves managing nursing staff, ensuring high quality patient care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The NUM plays a critical role in maintaining patient safety, optimizing workflow, and fostering a positive work environment.As a member of the ED Leadership group of the Emergency Services the NUM will work in collaboration with the ED Medical Director to manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the Emergency services to achieve key performance measures within a framework of continuous improvement, quality, and risk management.
